There’s plenty of inertia in the US as well. Everyone cheers when one of our leaders acts tough, without realizing that most are extremely hypocritical. We’re apathetic — if not completely ignorant — to most issues that are important in understanding our world.

As winter sets in around Michigan, I can’t help but think how nice it would be to spend a few weeks on a Cuban beach. Thanks for your insights, and keep on pushing.

As a french canadian, who is also entitled the name “american“ by the way, I think the day you will spend a week on the lovely beaches of Cuba, then your government will have achive a very good self-conscience examination…

In my opinion, the way your security agencies keep eyes on american people, I see little difference with any other extremist country where human rights are left aside for the glory of the governing parties and/or the corporates who controls them. The difference being that PR firms are able to make americans believe (and yell out loud) they are the freest people.

When I hear Obama pressing Hu Jintao of dialoging with Dalai-Lama, I can’t stop thinking of a talk around the table including those three and ayatollah Khomenei!

Of course no government is perfect, our prime minister stephen Harper makes me think of a Bush puppet with no guts and no torque. Its glance look like boiled fish and he is an actor in favor of climate change, and green effect gases, representing only the meanest firms financing his party.

Hopefully we don’t have to fight censorship to reveal that to canadians, we only have to fight inertia.
