Uganda Bill Proposes Death Towards Homosexual Offenders

Uganda parliament is seeking to ratify an Anti-Homosexual Bill, which would put to death any of its citizens caught having repeated homosexual offences, and throw into jail those who touch each other in any sort of “homosexual manner.” The Bill would also seek to punish offenders who have HIV/AIDS.

David Bahati of Uganda’s Ndorwa County West is attempting to get the Anti-Homosexual Bill in hopes of maintaining traditionalistic values, stipulating that marriage is between a man and a woman only.  The Religious figures and establishments including:  The Orthodox Church, Pentecostal Church, and Islam believe the Bill is beneficial and timely, although they denounce the need of death.

The Anti-Homosexuality Bill, would also go after lesbians, transsexuals, and bisexuals, and would even seek territorial jurisdiction to any Ugandan involved in any of the four type of sexual preferences, and would seek to extradite any Ugandan guilty of these sexual crimes.

The Coalition on Human Rights and Constitutional Law (CHRCL) believe their human rights and freedoms are being violated in an unconstitutional manner.  CHRCL thinks that going after HIV offenders would only make them go into hiding, and therefore wouldn’t receive medical treatment for their condition.
