This Real-ID nonsense is a nightmare. I just got the idiotic card in the mail listing all of the documentation. One thing I cannot find anywhere is…are we required to take a new picture? I like my old one when I was young and tanned and not an old, wrinkly mom. I have renewed on-line for years. Anyone that’s gone through this please tell me if they forced you to take a new picture.

Through the local Clerk of the Court, which are located at the county seat, people can get a declaration of domicile. It is a certified document that is recorded showing that the holder is, in fact, a resident of the state of Florida.
It is a notarized document and can be used for those who need verification of residence, for those who do not have motor vehicle licenses, etc.
Two forms of mail are required to show the holder resides at the the address on the declaration form.
For more information, go to Florida Statutes 222.17
The cost is $10 for the document to be recorded, $10 for the declaration to be certified and $3 per copy.

i just went through the process. things not accepted- mil. ID, old DL is not proof of residance, letter they send to have you come in is not accepted for residance, dd-214, nope…tax return is not proof of SS card though they say in the letter it is. i ran out of patience. when i finally was allowed to sign they questioned my signature though they watched me sign and had no other sample of my writing to compare it with. it is insane, uncalled for and perhaps unconstitutional.
advice-try to be patient and expect everything to be a drama.
