CCSS is a rational but unfortunate response on the part of government to the takeover of public education by teachers’ unions and the resulting inability to rank, discipline, hire/fire, or otherwise place teachers into classrooms based upon anything other than seniority and tenure. Get rid of the union and you get rid of the need for CCSS and teachers can go back to doing what they love so well, educating our youth.
