Dr. Robert Abele
Dr. Robert Abele is the recipient of numerous scholarships and fellowships, including the National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship to the U.S. Naval Academy in 2004, for the study of war and morality, the United States Federal Government Title IV Fellowship for International Studies in August, 2004, for the study of Islam, and the Illinois Council of Humanities Scholarship in 2003, for his work on the issues of freedom and democracy. Dedicated to maintaining and enhancing freedom and human rights, he regularly writes and gives public presentations on these issues, as well as issues pertaining to religion and spirituality in the twenty-first century. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Marquette Universityand M.A. degrees in Theology and Divinity. His published works include A User’s Guide to the USA PATRIOT Act (2005), Democracy Gone (coming out in the spring of 2009), Anatomy of a Deception: A Critical Thinking and Ethical Analysis of the Decision to Invade Iraq (coming out this summer, 2009), and numerous articles on U.S. policy. Dr. Abele recently left his position as a professor of Philosophy and Political Science at Yuba College in northern California when he was selected from a pool of over 150 candidates for a position with Diablo Valley College located in Pleasant Hill , California in the San Francisco Bay area.
