These gentlemen wrote me, I believe in response to a recent article I penned called Discussing School Privatization, Propositions 25 and 24 with Inglewood residents. I only mentioned the Reverend in passing. The article was much more focused on poverty pimps and privatization pushers like Shirley Ford of the so-called Parent Revolution, which is a front group for the CCSA and the billionaire boys club. Apparently, mentioning what people do, as opposed to what they say, brings out some very strong reactions.

I too would like to discuss the inaccuracies of the published article.  We need to hear from you immediately or I will pursue options pertaining to misrepresentation at the least, and slander if this is not clarified.

Hello Mr. Robert

I’m sending you this email to request a meeting of clarity with you ASAP. If possible we can meet at the SCLC office in South Los Angeles.or a place of your choice.

Thank you very much

Rev. K.W. Tulloss, National Action Network Los Angeles

Here is my response to their somewhat menacing emails. I’ve had Tulloss threaten me on occasions in the past.

An open letter to Reverend Eric Lee in response to his suggesting I’m misrepresenting him

Dear Reverend Lee:

As a social justice activist and writer, I take misinformation, inaccuracies, and misrepresentation seriously.

If you can point out any actual misrepresentation or inaccuracies in my writing, I will gladly and apologetically retract them.

If you can provide a sworn affidavit that you won’t run for LAUSD school board, I’ll retract that too. [1]

There doesn’t seem to be a need to hold a meeting on this. I’m a reasonable man, feel free to email me any misrepresentation or inaccuracies you feel exist for my immediate consideration, at your earliest convenience.

Bear in mind that your very close alliances with the corporate charter-voucher industry are both public knowledge and widely known [2]. You were a member of the so-called “Teacher Effectiveness Task Force” spearheaded by the corporate reform cabal. You’ve spoke publicly and lent political cover and support at a range events sponsored by a plethora of corporate charter-voucher industry groups including the California Charter Schools Association, Parent Revolution [3], Families in Schools, Alliance for a Better Community, Democrats for Education Reform, Families That Can, and a host of other right wing, corporately sponsored organizations.

You defended the wealthy executive of Celerity Charters’ self colonized justification for firing teachers for the “crime” of teaching about civil rights struggles and one of the most vile lynchings in our country’s sordid history. You’ve got well documented ties to powerful and rich charter executives ranging from ICEF, KIPP, Camino Nuevo, Green Dot Public Schools, The Accelerated Schools, and a host of other corporate CMO charter-voucher luminaries. Lastly, you were positively gushing over the pernicious propaganda piece [1] recently directed by the unprincipled Davis Guggenheim, and funded in large part by vile individuals like Philip Anschutz, who, in turn are supporters of AEI, Cato, Heritage, etc. [4]

The interests of our communities and those of corporations are diametrically opposed. The first president of the SCLC knew this implicitly [5]. Either you serve the community or corporations.

The Carpenter said “No man can serve two masters” [6]

I serve the community.

Your brother in Christ
